Maths Thinking
In class we have been learning how to work out word problems in maths. We have discovered if we draw pictures, use counters and other materials, make tables, write sentences and use the computer it helps us to think about the problem more clearly.
We had a problem about frogs. There were ten frogs in a pond. Some of them were sitting on a rock. We had to work out how many of the frogs were hiding in the water.
Some of us wrote sentences on the computer. Some of us made a table and some drew pictures. Some of us used counters. We had to glue them onto the poster so they wouldn't fall off.
All of us worked with buddies. We worked together and talked about our thinking.
